We are very proud of the presentation of our apartments and ask that you advise us immedaitely of anything that is not to your satisfaction.
Please report any breakages so these can be replaced for you, on departure please try and leave the room in the condition in which you found it, fair wear and tear accepted.

COVID-19 AWARE – IMPORTANT
Social Distancing in public areas:
We ask all our guests to practice social distancing while staying at Koala Court especially in the common areas.
Can we ensure no more than 2 guests in the gym at any one time, 2 guests in the lounge area at any one time and a maximum of 10 guests around the pool at any one time.
Hand sanitiser is available for use in all common areas.
If you need to come into the office we ask that you have a maximum of 2 people in the office at any one time.
Apartment Cleaning and services:
We want to assure guests that our cleaning of apartments is done to a very high standard and all common areas are regularly cleaned throughout the day.
If you are on a stay of 5 or more nights your apartment will be serviced mid stay.
We ask that you please not be present while our staff are cleaning your apartment.
If you are not out for the day could you please wait on your balcony while your apartment is being serviced.
More importantly if you have any symptoms of the virus we ask you please to not travel or if you develop while staying we ask you to alert management.
CHECK IN / CHECK OUT
On the day of arrival, check in time is 2.00pm.
On your day of departure, checkout time is on or before 10.00 am. Please place room keys in the key drop box by the entry to reception as you depart.
If you wish to extend your stay, or arrange for a late check-out, please contact reception 24 hours before you are due to depart. Late checkouts cannot be guaranteed, but we will do our best to accommodate your wishes. We offer onsite secure storage for baggage if you have a late departure time.

WEATHER
For most of the year the climate in Cairns is simply perfect: blue skies, warm weather and gentle breezes but there are only two seasons – the wet and the dry.
The wet season lasts from November to May. With some months averaging over 400 mm of rainfall. The dry season runs from June to October with rainfall averaging approximately 35 mm. During the wet seasons tropical cyclones (hurricanes) can influence the weather, but Cairns is built to survive the elements and has weathered scores of cyclones in the past.
STARTER PACK
Each apartment is provided with a starter pack consisting of, toilet paper, soap, tea, coffee, and sugar, guests are henceforth responsible for all additional daily needs during their stay. Mini packs of dishwashing detergent and laundry powder are available from the office.
SHOPS & TAKEAWAYS
There is a selection of shops and restaurants located across the road on Sheridan Street, including a Friendly Grocer Supermarket, bakery, liquor shop, and a number of popular fast-food outlets, only a 2-minute walk. Cairns Central shopping mall is about a 15-minute walk down McLeod Street, 3 minutes in a taxi.
TOURS & ACTIVITIES
There is a wide variety of activity brochures at reception, our local experience is freely available to help you select activities and tours most suited to your needs and budget.
If you intend visiting the beaches, please take note of the warning signs regarding marine stingers (jellyfish) and always use patrolled beached and swim between the flags.
POOL & BBQ AREA
The pool is open from 0700am through to 0900pm daily for guests only, please dry off completely before leaving the pool area as wet feet / wet floors can be a hazard.
Do not take any glass items into the pool area as breakages can occur and these subsequently present a high risk to young children.
Feel free to use the BBQ, ensure that the gas supply is turned off after use.
Children under 14 years of age using the pool must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

There is secure free parking for guests at our Cairns City Accommodation.

Renting a car is a great way to get around in Cairns and explore the many great destinations that are just a few hours’ drive away.
Getting around Cairns CBD with your own car does make things a little easier. The driving in Cairns is fairly laid back just like the town itself so take your time and enjoy the slower pace. There’s plenty of parking in town and the road signs directing you to popular tourist destinations are clearly marked.
There are many wonderful scenic routes to take that combine rainforest and ocean views, so if you want to get out of the city at your leisure, hiring a car is an excellent idea. The coastal roads connecting Cairns to other beachside towns are thought to be some of the best in the world.
APARTMENT SERVICE
We service the apartments ‘mid stay’ for guests staying 7 nights or more, if a service is due, a note will be posted on your door the day before.
LAUNDRY
There is a clothes dryer, clothes airer, and washing machine in each apartment, and an outdoor clothes line adjacent to the carpark.
Please do not hang towels or wet clothing on the balcony rails.
SMOKING
All apartments are non-smoking; if you choose to smoke an ashtray is provided for use on your balcony or patio, there is also a designated smoking area adjacent to the carpark. All other public spaces are designated as non-smoking including the pool area.
Please do not discard cigarette butts into our gardens or fence line, this is a fire hazard.
AFTER HOURS ACCESS
After-hours access for pedestrians is via the personnel gate adjacent to reception; the gate can be closed during hours of darkness to prevent unwanted visitors entering the premises; to open the gate the unlock code is C 03489, this code is also printed on your room key tag. If using the gate after hours, please ensure that you close it.
DISPOSAL OF RUBBISH
There is a wheely bin adjacent to the access for Units 1 & 4, and a second wheely bin by the carpark exit onto Beryl Street. In the car park there is also a recycle bin for plastics, glass and cardboard, please do not dispose of food waste into this bin – the recycle bin has a yellow lid.
TELEVISION
Please do not tune your television, complimentary Foxtel is provided for your entertainment, if you have any difficulty with accessing channels, please let us know and we’ll assist to resolve.
(Some of the remote controls have different function buttons, in most cases we can resolve these issues in a matter of minutes.)
SECURITY
Please ensure that your balcony or courtyard doors are locked at night or at times when you are not in your room.
QUIET TIME
Please be courteous to other guests and avoid making excessive noise especially after 1000pm at night, Koala Court has a ‘quiet time’ period commencing at 1000pm.
PARTIES
No parties are permitted, for guidance: a party is defined as a social gathering of invited guests, typically involving eating, drinking, and entertainment.

Cairns Esplanade Lagoon
Escape the heat at one of Cairns’ best-known landmarks, the Esplanade Lagoon. Set on the Cairns foreshore overlooking Trinity Inlet, the 4800 sq metre saltwater swimming lagoon offers locals and tourists a year-round safe swimming location. Saltwater is pumped from the inlet and filtered through a state-of-the-art filtration and chlorination system, to meet Australian Standards. The kids can enjoy the sandy edges, build sand castles and play in shallow water. On the other side of the Lagoon, visitors can lounge on the timber decks in moderate shade. Shady trees, landscaped gardens and open spaces all contribute to the leisurely atmosphere on the Esplanade. The Lagoon is open 6am-6pm Thursday – Tuesday, Midday-6pm Wednesday all year round.
Cairns Botanic Gardens
The Cairns Botanic Gardens are a tropical paradise where you can explore the beauty of tropical plants, relax in stunning surroundings and learn about tropical flora and horticulture. The Gardens are open from 7.30Am to 5.30Pm every day of the year and entry is free. The Botanic Gardens includes several spaces used for demonstrating the diverse plant life that can be found within a tropical climate. The Cairns Botanic Gardens include: Flecker Garden Centenary Lakes – Saltwater and Freshwater The Rainforest Boardwalk Mount Whitfield Conservation Park The Gondwanan Heritage Garden
Cairns Aquarium
Set in the heart of Cairns, the Cairns Aquarium provides a world-class venue for seeing and interacting with the incredible animals and eco-systems found only in Australia’s Tropical North Queensland. This region which borders two World Heritage-listed environments: The Great Barrier Reef and the Wet Tropics Rainforest. Explore over 71 different habitats, playing home to over 16,000 animals. Enjoy daily animal talks, shark feeds, and get your hands wet in the marine touch tank! Visit by day and add on a Marine Life Encounter, Turtle Hospital Tour, delicious lunch at Dundee’s Restaurant, or take the plunge as you Dive with the Sharks. Esplanade Boardwalk
The Cairns Esplanade is a picturesque 2.5 km stretch of foreshore in the heart of Cairns that is managed by Cairns Regional Council. The parklands, playgrounds, boardwalk, lagoon and recreational facilities are all free entry. Come along and enjoy this stunning facility.
Kuranda Scenic Railway
Kuranda Scenic Railway is the original scenic rail journey to Kuranda. This spectacular experience travels over bridges and through tunnels hand-made by North Queensland’s pioneers over 100 years ago. Traversing the World Heritage listed rainforest of the Barron Gorge National Park, this is one of the world’s great railway journeys.
Muddy’s Playground
Muddy’s playground is open every day of the year between 9am and 7pm (including public holidays and weekends). Sections of Muddy’s are closed for maintenance on Tuesday and Thursday mornings until noon. Even when maintenance works are being carried out, Council aims to have at least half the playground available for use. Muddy’s is a modern, fun, safe, splash playground and parkland. It incorporates active, passive, interactive and educational facilities with a combination of play equipment. Muddy’s playground is themed “Life in Trinity Bay” and the playground includes water play areas plus a flying fox, sound chimes, track ride, rope bridge, slides, play houses, storytelling areas, see-saw, trick track and puzzle games. Please note that the disabled-use Liberty Swing uses the MLAK national keying system. For access, please ask at Muddy’s cafe. Muddy’s has two toilet facilities one at the north end of Muddy’s near the cafe and one at the southern end of Muddy’s. Muddy’s has barbecues, picnic tables and an on-site cafe.
Night Markets
Each night when the sun sets, Cairns Night Markets come alive. Featuring over seventy retail outlets and home to a myriad of food options, Cairns Night Markets are the perfect place to grab dinner and hunt for a bargain. The hustle and bustle of the market in the open air setting makes for an electrifying shopping experience.
Skyrail
Immerse yourself in the sights, sounds, smells and tranquillity of one of the world’s most botanically fascinating areas that has remained relatively unchanged for 130 million years. Enjoy a truly unique perspective of this ancient landscape with unsurpassed panoramic views of Barron Gorge and Australia’s Wet Tropics World Heritage Area. Glide metres above the pristine jungle canopy between Smithfield (Cairns) and Kuranda, enroute descend to explore the rainforest close up at Red Peak and Barron Falls.
Beaches
Cairns Northern Beaches are located 10 to 20 minutes out of the centre of Cairns and are known for their superior swimming beaches. If you ask any local and they’ll tell you that Trinity Beach is their favourite place to sun themselves and swim. Yorkey’s Knob is a smaller suburb to the north of Cairns and one of its main drawcards is the Boating Club and Half Moon Bay Marina which has a fantastic restaurant with views out to the Coral Sea, Double Island and Haycock Island. It also has a great patrolled swimming beach with gorgeous coconut palms and casuarinas lining the sand and a stinger net to protect swimmers during box jellyfish season.x
